CHEROKEE COUNTY HIDE & SEEK
Let the adventure begin! If you liked the Cherokee County Treasure Hunt hosted during the summers of 2014, 2015, and 2016, then you’ll love playing hide and seek! Spend your summer on a county-wide scavenger hunt travelling to various county parks.
For the summer of 2020, we’re hiding ceramic tiles in our parks and you’re seeking them! This summertime adventure will take you, your friends, and family to several different county parks. This adventure is free and anyone can participate! Visit the Cherokee County Conservation Board website (www.cherokeecountyparks.com) to download an activity and informational packet. You can also stop at our office at 629 River Rd in Cherokee, during or after office hours, to pick-up an already printed packet from our drop box.
Visit the sites in the guidebook in any order and look for a white 3"x3" tile at each site. There is a clue inside the guidebook to help you find it at each site. The symbol on the tile should match the image on the site's rubbing page in the activity book. Make a rubbing by placing the page over the tile and rubbing the page with a crayon. Tiles are accessible after hours.
To participate, you’ll need the booklet, crayons, transportation, and proper outdoors gear to participate. Most of the county areas will require close-toed shoes and pants as some tiles are located just off mowed areas.
If you have questions, contact the Cherokee County Conservation Board by calling 712-225-6709 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit us on Facebook!
