June 6: Eco Avengers! @ 8:30am-noon, CCCB Office, 629 River Rd. This young conservationist camp is for those who have completed 7th-10th grades. Registration is required. Registration forms will be available at the end of April. This camp runs June 6, 13, and 20.

 

June 9: Naturalist Lunchbox @ noon-1:00pm, Gillette Park, Cherokee. Each Friday will be on a different topic. Bring your lunch and your family! Program starts at 12:20pm, once your lunch is done and includes hands-on activities geared towards families.

June 27-29: Adventure Camp @ 9:00am-11:30am, Spring Lake Park. This camp is geared towards those who have completed 5th-6th grades and focuses on outdoor survival and recreation. Registration is required and will be available at the end of April.

 

July 8: Float with an Archaeologist @ 10:00am-3:00pm. Megan Stroh, our local Archaeologist from the Sanford Museum, will be floating down the Little Sioux River with us pointing out historical landmarks and identifying items on sandbars. Route is TBD. More information to follow.

 

July 10: Conservation Board Meeting @ 7:00pm, CCCB Office, 629 River Rd, Cherokee

 

July 11-13: River Ramblers. We've partnered with Plymouth County Conservation Board to provide you with an overnight camp and canoe float on the Little Sioux River for those who have completed 6th-12th grades. Registration is required and there is a $30/person fee. More information to follow.

 

July 18-20: Summer Day Camp: Eco Encounters! @ 9:00am-11:30am, Spring Lake Park. This camp is for those who have completed K-1st grades. Registration is required. Forms will be available at the end of April.

 

July 25-27: Summer Day Camp: Eco Encounters! @ 9:00am-11:30am, Spring Lake Park. This camp is for those who have completed 2nd-4th grades. Registration is required. Forms will be available at the end of April.

 

August 4: Four County Float @ 9:00am-3:00pm, Kindlespire Park to Sioux Rapids. This float includes four county naturalists and an Archaeologist. Registration is required. Bring your own water vessel or rent a canoe or kayak for $10.

 

August 9-10: Canoe Camp. This camp is for those who have completed 6th-10th grades. We'll float the river and learn about mussels, archaeology, geology, culture, and more. Registration is required and forms will be available at the end of April.
