Patterson Area

The Patterson Wildlife Sanctuary is a 20 acre area located west of Cherokee, IA on L-51.  This area is managed by the local Pheasants Forever Chapter with cooperation from Cherokee County Conservation Board.  This area is comprised of grassland with shrubs for wildlife cover. In some of the swale areas there are dense stands of cattails which pheasants love for winter habitat.  This area is not open to hunting.
