OUR GOAL: Add 78 acres to Martin's Access
PURPOSE: To expand habitat, trail systems, access and recreational opportunities for the benefit
of our communities!
Please check back for additional updates! We
have purchased 78.23 acres to expand Martin's Access, now a 300-acre park on the Little Sioux River. Much
of our boundary fence is built, 17 acres of native tallgrass prairie reconstruction has been planted, and about 2 miles of
horse/hiking trails have been opened through the new property. We've also brought water and electricity
to the new area, finished three rental cabins, and started progress toward modern camping. Tree and shrub plantings, a playground,
wildlife viewing areas, prairie landscapes and more are set to follow, pending availability of funds. The area is open to public hunting, hiking, horseback riding, etc. so please come
visit! This land was purchased by the people, for the people! Give yourselves a pat on the
back for helping us preserve this beautiful property!
