OUR GOAL: Add 78 acres to Martin's Access
PURPOSE: To expand habitat, trail systems, access and recreational opportunities for the benefit of our communities!

Please call for more information! This project will enable Cherokee County to enhance one of our most popular, scenic areas. This adjacent property offers a singular opportunity to develop a high quality, modern recreation area within the serene quiet and wildness of the Little Sioux River Valley. A modern camping and day use area will replace 10 acres of cropland. 60 acres of neglected forest and oak savanna will be restored to its pre-settlement luster, welcoming new generations of explorers. Remaining cropland will be restored to tallgrass prairie.

Who will benefit? Families, campers, hunters, horse trail riders, river paddlers, hikers, photographers, birdwatchers, students and more. Who will you bring to the park for a visit? How will a stroll through the prairie lift the burdens of your day?

Funding for land acquisition is available through grants offered by state and federal agencies, and, although we will continue to apply, competition for these grants is heavy. Outdoor amenities are in demand all over the U.S. and Iowa. It is essential that we empower our own local agencies, such as the Cherokee County Conservation Board, to provide high quality recreational facilities for our residents and visitors. A local agency such as ours is an efficient unit, making the most of donated dollars by using local materials, local labor, and local ideas with local needs in mind.

Please help us accomplish this goal by donating today! Contributions of $1000 or more will be recognized on a permanent display within the park. Smaller donations are welcome as well! Memorials and dedications are encouraged. Donations to a public facility are tax deductible. Documentation will be provided to all donors. Make checks payable to Cherokee CCB, include "Martin's Access Addition" in the memo and THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!!
