Nelson Access

nelsonaccess.jpg
Walleye fishing is popular in Little Sioux River in early Spring.

Nelson Area contains 8.75 acres on the Little Sioux River east of Larrabee, Iowa on County Road C16. Fishing and hunting are permitted. The riverbank drops off steeply, so canoe access is not recommended. A boat ramp is provided 1.2 miles downstream at Martin Area Park. This area contains flood plain timber, including maple, cottonwood and willow, as well as brushy uplands. It is a good spot for pheasants seeking cover in winter.
