Prescott Prairie

Prescott Prairie is a 6 acre remnant tallgrass prairie along State Highway 3 east of Cherokee, Iowa. This prairie fragment has never been plowed and contains a beautiful and diverse plant community. The land was donated to the county by Leo Prescott and his sister Edna. Parking is limited, but a walk through this prairie in the summer is unforgettable. Hunting is permitted.
