CROSS COUNTRY SKI AT REDTAIL RIDGE
Need a new way to make winter go by faster? Why not enjoy it!? Join the Cherokee County Conservation Board (CCCB) at Redtail Ridge for an afternoon of cross country skiing.
Cross country skiing is a low-risk, low-impact aerobic form of exercise, which makes it perfect for all ages. Take this opportunity to enjoy the snowy outdoors and try something new with your loved ones! The CCCB has equipment you can borrow during this program free of charge. Be sure to dress comfortably and in layers.
This will be a floating program in, meaning that it will be scheduled on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm when there is enough snow on the ground to cross country ski. An announcement with the date will be made in various forms of media after a big snowfall.
On the scheduled day, meet Naturalist Laura Jones at 1:30pm in the Redtail Ridge parking lot off of C44. We’ll be skiing a relatively flat, 1.5 mile loop.
If you or someone in your party needs to borrow equipment (free of charge), let Laura know the Friday before the event. Equipment is limited.
Redtail Ridge is located 5 miles south of Cherokee on Hwy 59 and ½ mile west on C44. For more information, contact Laura at the Cherokee County Conservation Board by calling 712-225-6709 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit us on Facebook!
