Board Member Vacancy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 23, 2024 CCCB Board Member Vacancy The Cherokee County Conservation Board (CCCB) has an immediate vacancy on its board. The CCCB is overseen by a five-member volunteer board that has the ability to set rules & regulations, enter into contracts, employ a Director, set goals, and oversee expenditures. Meetings, which are open to the public, are held the second Monday of the month at 5:00pm in the CCCB office located at 629 River Rd in Cherokee. Board members are appointed by the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors for five year terms; however, due to a recent vacancy, a newly appointed candidate would be filling a term that will expire at the end of 2025. All board members have the potential to be reappointed at the end of their term. A qualified candidate must live in Cherokee County and have a demonstrated interest in conservation matters.
