OPEN TRAP SHOOTS SCHEDULED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 3, 2026

Open Trap Shooting Scheduled at Licklider

Beginning Sunday, September 13, staff will be operating the trap machines at Licklider Shooting Complex from 2:00-6:00pm on Sunday afternoons. Cost per round (25 clays) will be $6.00. When machines are not operated by staff, users are allowed to bring in their own machines and clays.

If you are bringing a group of people, we recommend making a reservation. Click here to access the reservation page. You must be signed-in, have a valid range permit, and be ready to shoot by the start of your reservation time. If you are late for your reservation, it's forfeited. If there are no reservations, it becomes first-come, first served.

Users are required to sign-in and have a valid range permit. The cost for a daily permit is $5/day/shooter. An annual household permit can be purchased for $40 onsite, by clicking here, or at the CCCB office located at 629 River Rd, Cherokee, IA. Annual permits are good for the year they're purchased, not a calendar year. A permit is valid is all parts of the Licklider Shooting Complex.
